Nucleic Acid Nanotechnology: Self-assembly and Some Applications

报告摘要:

Nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) act as the genetic information carrier for known living organisms on the planet. Nonetheless, they are not merely the secret of life. Attributing to its programmability derived from the specific Watson-Crick base pairing, nucleic acids have long been utilized as a smart molecular ligand, for instance, to direct the interactions between materials, or to probe biological systems. My research grounds on the foundation of nucleic acid nanotechnology, where nucleic acid is used as basic building blocks that are programmed to self-assemble into prescribed structures with unprecedented fidelity that nearly impossible to achieve by other techniques. In this talk, I will show you how we develop advanced self-assembly strategies to enrich the design toolbox of nucleic acid self-assembly to allow people constructing structures with increased complexity. Furthermore, we have demonstrated exciting applications of nucleic acid nanotechnology by organizing non-biological (e.g. gold nanoparticles) or biological (e.g. siRNAs, proteins) materials onto nucleic acid structures for applications in diverse fields.

报告人简介:

王鹏飞,上海交通大学医学院分子医学研究院研究员、博士生导师。在天津大学获得材料科学与工程专业学士(2007年)与硕士学位(2009年),2014年于美国普渡大学生物医学工程专业获得博士学位。2014年至2018年在美国埃默里大学医学院从事博士后研究。长期从事分子自组装、生物医用材料、疾病诊疗、纳米制备等领域的研究。在Nature,Science,J. Am. Chem. Soc.,Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.,Chem,Adv. Mater.,ACS Nano,Nature Protoc.等学术期刊上发表论文30余篇。
