报告摘要:
Unnatural amino acids that carry diverse chemical functionalities can be site-specifically incorporated into protein of interest by genetic code expansion in organisms from bacteria to mammals. Here I will show how genetic code expansion can be applied to regulate protein function.

报告人简历:
Brief Biography: Yu-Hsuan Tsai obtained BSc from Taiwan University in 2006, MSc from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich in 2008, and Dr rer. nat. from Freie Universität Berlin in 2012. He had worked as a researcher at Academia Sinica, Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, and MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. Since 2015 he has been a Lecturer in the School of Chemistry at Cardiff University. Website: https://tsai-lab.org/

Research Interests: My research interests focus on development of chemical tools to address biological challenges. Techniques commonly used in my research include organic synthesis, biochemistry, molecular cloning, genetic code expansion and mammalian cell culture.
